they also make a plug in connector for 9004 so it can handle higher wattage bulbs. They sell em at Advance auto parts near my house, so i guess they might sell them everywhere else too.

Hooligan yeh the headlight is 9004. You can either do two things. One is that hyou can upgrade the socket of the head lamp to a thicker gauge wire. Two is you can upgrade the whole lighting system to an HID kit, cost is about $700, this includes a ballast one each side for BRIGHT light.

I had some of the blue lights but totally MELTED the socket!

thanks. where would i go to do this? any auto parts store? do u know about how much that would cost *** theres no way i can upgrade to a HID kit. I already ordered these lights before i knew about melting. so they are on the way, i thought i'd probably have to change somethin before i could put them in though...

My $.02 on HID lights. The Ractive, Eurolite, and Piaa will either:

a) last 3 months and burn out
or
b) burn out your wiring harness.

This has been my experience.

I've been using Japanese made HyperWhites for a few years and found them to last as long as oem bulbs and just as sturdy.

I have them in my NX and my 200SX with no problems.

The Ractive, Eurolites, and Piaa either did b) or a) respectively.

Considering that the Hyperwhites are half of what the Piaa's cost, it's something worth looking into.

Of course you could just spring for some real HID systems :) (yeah right)

Turbo yep I have those Hyper White made by Phillips. They are bright and very WHITE. I don't mind because I still get thet bright shine that I was looking for.

I was using the Eurolite for about a year and burnt out. I bought the ractive and totally melted my sockets. I knew about the socket melting but since I had good luck with the Eurolite, I thought it was a fluke on some of the cars. Serves me right for not listening to you guys.

Hooligan you can buy the thicker gauge sockets I think almost from any parts store. I know you can get it at http://www.summitracing.com and some local stores around here in Chicago.

Best of luck!

Actually, I went to the dealership to buy a pair of wiring harnesses and they are quite buff, alot more so than the wimpy stock ones...

Perhaps this was a corrected design flaw?

Regardless, the ones purchased at the Nissan Parts counter are worth getting too.

Good point Turbo! Don't buy it from any Nissan dealers. It will be the same guage as the one in your car. You want to buy a thicker wire than the one you have currently.
