Has anyone ever brought there car to a shop to have the engine bay professionaly cleaned? Is this a good idea or waste of time and money? B/c my engine has a oil leak, and a small tranny leak, it is dirty with a lot of grime and dirt. I did clean alot but it barely looks like I made a difference. And when I get the leak fixed I would like to have everything nice and clean.

Also I just replaced my volve cover and spark plug gaskets today. And let me say the inside of the valve cover and head is nasty. It seemed like there was a dry layer of oil just caked on the wall and almost everything.

In this link I have some pictures (they are big pics):

Is the any engine clean that would work good for this? I already did a Gunk engine oil cleaner when I first got the car. But anything else that may work?

Thanks in advance
Peter

for the inside of my vavlve cover and other places in the engine bay i used Castrol Superclean (or somethin' like that). you can get it @ walmart or auto parts stores. comes in a purple container. spray the inside of the VC and let it soak. rinse and let it dry...for a long time. if the service you're gonna get includes a steam clean then it should be worth the $$.
