Well this is the 2nd time this has happened & i think i may have the answer.
For a few months now every so often my CEL will flash erattically , with no sort of pattern, will stay on, on acceleration, & then flicker , then go off on deceleration .
One day i went to go & start my car & it would not idle even after revvin the engine to 2k rpms for like 5 mins. It would just die. start fine , but then when the rpms would come down it would die.
I popped the hood after turning the key , not to start but to when the fuel pump cycles, & i heard a clicking type of noise with a funny pattern. I lowered my ear closer & i heard that little gold cylinder looking thing, directly above the coolant temp. sensor & oil filter.
I removed the 2 screwes & slid it off & i found a little tiny spring . i used throttle body cleaner to spray into that little gold cylinder & reinstalled. I went to turn the enigne on & it idles just fine now & no more CEL.....
WTF is that little gold cylinder thing called?? BTW i have a 94 Sentra SE-R with a UKDM lowport
TIA
