i just painted my se-r dark grey primer. it's almost black, but it looks good. right now i'm trying to decide if i will stick with more flat paint, or break down and pay maaco a few hundred bucks, since i already did all the sanding/priming. i'll try to get a pic, camera should be operational soon.

God... why do you all want to paint your car flat black? It is so ugly. It looks like shit on hot rods (I think it should be a sin too) and it looks like shit on new cars. Everytime I see a car on the road with a 'flat' color the thing that goes through my head is "look at that poor guy." It's ugly... and I think it's almost as ricey as those idiots that drive around with a primered car.

Flat black on interior... that's good cause glossy doesn't usually match. But on exterior... yuck. Sorry, but thats just my opinion.

well thats your opinion and i don't have a problem with it i just can't afford to get a real paint joba dn flat black is the easest way to go then maybe down the road if i keep the car long enough i'll paint it and its already prepped then

bah, whatever, my car looks good considering it's my first venture with paint and i'm not finished yet, anyway. and when if i do decide to do my own paint, it will be semiflat black, not reg flat, and i might even throw a clear coat on. this guy i talked to around town said that if you clear coat matte colors it makes them a bit lighter in shade, as opposed to colors with metallics. so it would come out being a grayish shiny color. idk. i've thought about o.d. green too. would look sick with the gunmetal rims.
