Will the G20 ECU work in my '98 200sx ser? I'm assuming that I would need the 98 G20 - correct? What kind of price range am I looking at?

If my knowledge serves me correct, there were no G20's in 97 and 98 and then the P11s in 99+. The 94-96 G20 ECUs (OBD-II) will work in your 98 but will trigger a MIL light (should run normally in 95-97s). The light shouldn't decrease performance. To disable that, I think you would have to reroute some vacuum hoses or something like that. I got my for $95 on http://car-part.com .

do a search in the top right corner, this question has been discussed and beat to death over and over again. yes, it will work for a simple answer, again, I have one in my 98, you will have a mil light until you change your rear o2 and change some egr stuff around.

Spundex - putting a 98 G20 ECU in a 98 SE-R will be pointless. The 98 G20 has the same low redline and has the speed limiter as the 98 SE-R has. You want a 94-96 G20 ECU because it has a 7500rpm rev limit and a removed speed limiter.

I'm totally sold on this ECU. I just have a couple of questions yet..

<Glad I asked. That would have really sucked!

<I performed a search as suggested but I still couldn't find a solution to the SES light. The closest solution I found so far was, "swap around a few vacume lines and disconnect a harness off of the map sensor...(the ecu will) also throw a rear o2 (error), but you can put in an older one w/ a new o2 nut and you will be fine w/ no codes". Where can I find out which vacuum lines get switched to where, and what and where is the MAP sensor that needs to be disconnected? Pictures or drawings would be great. TIA.

Yep, I'm getting one. Found a couple of '96's for $100 through car-parts.com but all the places were closed by the time I got home work today.

Brian, posting those instructions would help a lot. Thanks for the offer.
