: jwt ecu
sr20sleeper 02-25-2002, 11:47 PM i guess ill try this on the classic forum and see if i get more response. Can anyone with the JWt ecu tell me if it is worth the money and what difference it makes? I already have a 1992 se-r with the pop charger, hotshot header, random cat, greddy exhaust. I'm thinking about getting my ecu programmed but it is expensive and the car will be down for a couple weeks so i need to know if its worth it. Anyone see a change in 1/4 mile times? Changes at the dyno? Substantial response improvement? thanks

In addition, I saw ~10% increase in fuel mileage on the highway. YMMV. Also, I have an extra stock ECU if you'd like to buy it. You're car won't be down at all, AND you'll have a stock and modified ECU to play with.

sr20sleeper 02-26-2002, 11:09 AM thanks man, that was exactly what i was looking for. As for your ecu it depends on when i get my tax return and if i can just find a used one online.

They are a rare find and they get snatch up immediately. I could probably sell mine in an hour or less.
I bought another stock one to get reprogrammed. Then I lucked into a used JWT ECU that a friend didn't want anymore. So now I have 3 ECUs (2 stock, 1 JWT). Obviously, I don't need 2 stock ones sitting around.
It's boxed up ready to go.
sr20sleeper 02-26-2002, 03:09 PM i mean a used programmed one online. I see them on se-r.net sometimes and it seems a lot cheaper than actually getting jwt to do it. I appreciate the offer, but i cant do it just yet due to lack of funds.

That's what I meant too. They are rarely put up for sale on the board, and when they are, they're practically sold instantly.
Good luck.
RySE-R 1 03-05-2002, 12:49 PM How much would you sell one of those stock ECU's for?
MaddMatt 03-05-2002, 01:33 PM ryse-r 1, you have a PM.
RySE-R 1 03-05-2002, 09:19 PM Uhhhh...how do I see the PM?
BORNGEARHEAD 03-05-2002, 09:50 PM Since we're talking JWT ECU, I have a question. I am ready to buy the JWT ECU. I was planning on picking it up from Stillen, unless you know of a place I can get it cheaper, for a decent price. My question is, with my current mods could JWT give me a reprogrammed ECU with a bigger performance gain than if I were to buy Stillens standard ECU upgrade? Can JWT tweak it more if I give them my mods list? I know Stillen's ECU is programmed by JWT. But if JWT can tweak it a little, it would be worth the money to just have JWT do it.
Thanks.

Looking at your mod list, the answer is no. The nice thing about the MAF system on our cars is that it can adjust accordingly to increases in airflow. Kinda like an "automatic mod sensor." The only thing you need to get the program changed for would be things like cams, bored MAFs, bigger injectors, turbos, etc.
Driven97 03-06-2002, 10:23 AM Oops.. Double post.
