: Cost involved with a Basic T25 Turbo

I did some searches and wasn't able to find everything I was looking for. If there is a good website to answer all or most of these question, by all means point me in the direction.

I am looking to buy a newer G20 (P11), but I would like some more hp. I understand that in Japan they made SR20DET. It appears that you can easily make 200+whp (this is at the wheel right , so it ~230+ at the crank) with a T25.

Fuel and tuning seems to pretty easy with a turbo JWT ECU.

Installation doesn't seem like it is too much of an issue, but how much custom work is needed?

How much does the DET set up cost for retrofiting a DE. Do I need I to buy a compete Japan DET to get all the parts? What about turbo oiling. What exactly is needed and from what?

I looked a little into the aftermarket kits, but I noticed most of them use external wastegate, which I don't want to use (I know my wife won't go for one of those).

I know the Turbo kits probably aren't "emmisions" legal but will they pass emmisions and do they elimate any catalytic converters.

talk to Jason G Young @ www.JGYCUSTOMS.com. he will get you almost all the hardware you will need and tell you what else you will need.

framingham, interesting.

One thing to mention, if you don't want to get overly involved in the ecu issue stay with a pre 2000. the 2000+ changed the ecu design which will involve rewiring the conector. I will be taking on this project with my b15 pretty soon which uses the same connector but its still some time out.

To make it easier on yourself find a pre 2000.

True steve, but that was only a few wires. On the 2000+ sr20 cars they completly changed the ecu and the harness that plugs into it. It is nothing like the 1999 and below.

BTW, dave you probably live about 5 mins away from me, you should stop over some time, we are a household full of sr20 guys and could probably answer a lot of your questions in person.

I might take you up on that offer. BTW Where in Framingham do you live? I live near 126 by Ashland.

We live on Grant street. ;)

I've seen the syclone.

If you have ever seen a white b13 SE-R, or a black b13 SE-R, or a white NX2000, or a radium (silverish) B15, that was one of us.

I know that I have seen a couple of SE-R and NX2000 around, but I haven't really taken notice or paid attention to any specific one. Sorry.

My wife and I have a 99 Nissan Altima SE (light blue) that is coming off of a lease in June, I am trying to figuire out what to do with it. (I drive the car more than she does, but it is her car) I am either going to buyout the lease or buy a new or slightly used car. She wants a small 4 door, so far I like the new V spec SE-R's, G20's, Altima V6 and Jetta 1.8 Turbo. I doubt she will go for a Vspec because of the Red/black interior and I am not sure I want to spend that much money for a V6 Altima, so a G20 is pretty high up on my list.

I have to say that I am pretty impressed with the knowledge level of these lists compare to some of the other Import Boards.
