So I just finished installing my drivers side axle, control arm bushings, inner and outer tie rod end, stabilizer links and some other things I can't remember right now.
After I got everything back together, I began adding some tranny fluid to replace what I'd lost from the axle swap. I snipped the end off the bottle, then put the little cap back on it and attempted to position the bottle (from underneath the car) so that I could just squirt it in.
While I was trying to position the bottle just right...yeap you guessed it!...the cap popped off and fell into the transmission fill hole...
So here's my question, will the gears in the tranny just chew it up into dust? Or should I expect something far more sinister?
On a sidenote (maybe related?), the car did NOT want to start. It's been parked for about 3 days and it took a LOT of coaxing and pedal pumping to get it going. Once it started though, it stayed running and had no further issues. I was also able to turn it off then turn it back on without further issue.
thanks!
