: B13 SE-R's in Canada
SumAznGuy 11-30-2005, 02:50 PM As James suggested, I am starting a thread with pics of all liscenced B13 SE-R's in Canada.
Mine is a 93 with 190K miles. Red, 5 sp, mostly stock.
So far, I've added an ST front sway bar, and a drop in K&N air filter in a drilled out stock air box.
I have NX2000 springs on KYB GR-2's that I will be installing after the winter.
Stock wheels have 205/55/14 Hoosiers RS303's and 16 inch DTM wheels with 225/55/16 Dunlop W10's as my street tires.
I will post up pics when I get around to taking some. Here are some pics from Mission raceway where I did some lapping.

FastNX 11-30-2005, 03:46 PM How did you import it?
Daley 11-30-2005, 04:02 PM Looks good.
That is too cool. The car looks awesome! I want one.
Do you ever get people approaching you about it? It's hilarious seeing Canadian's reactions to Classic SE-Rs, when they know what they are. SO rare up here.

pertuzian 11-30-2005, 08:56 PM How did you get a car with the crappy US-mandated "automatic" belts registered?
Registering something like a 240 with Canadian-mandated non-crappy belts in the US is difficult but doable, apparently, as I've seen such cars.

Big John 11-30-2005, 09:10 PM Nice car, it looks like you were holding everyone up, though.

LOL! I'm guessing it was just a crowded field. Right? Right?!

OptimumSE-R 11-30-2005, 11:46 PM so a b13 se-r is like a skyline here in the u.s?
shit is that one still for sale in van ????
SumAznGuy 12-01-2005, 10:02 AM My car was imported into Canada through Alberta in Dec. 97. I have a small history with this car way before I bought. In 98, I was driving a 91 NX2000 and I always saw my SE-R around. I even knew where they guy lived because I remembered the liscence plate and the busted keyhole.
In June of this year, I ran into the at the time owner of the car on another forum and we talked for a bit. Then one day he decided he wanted a different car and asked if I was interested. And the rest is history.
Also, in 98, there was a black SE-R with BC plates. So I guess that makes it 3 in BC, assuming the black one is still around.
PS. At the lapping day, I was the first car behind the pace vehicle, which happened to be a Dodge Magnum. I decided to stay a little back because I haven't bled the stock brakes yet and they seem to show a lot of fade after three hard brakes.
SumAznGuy 12-01-2005, 10:06 AM sh*t is that one still for sale in van ????
Looking at the plates, that car is insured till Aug 2006. I'll get my brother to run the plates and see if they are still active.
Also, looking at the tail lights, I do believe that car is either a 91 or 92 SE-R. :biggthump

Kind of like that. I mean, we still got the E and the XE versions of the B13, just never the SE-R.
They attract a mega amount of attention when people in the know see them up here - picture if your country never got the Classic SE-R, only the NX2000. Very cool to see them around.
If you search the old SE-R List archives, there's a post from Ken Tam, the first guy I ever met from the list in person. He ran into a Classic up here from the US, and he was fascinated by it. We're all kind of funny that way when we see them here.
I remember Jim's Schumacher's VE Classic would always attract a ton of attention when he'd come to lapping days up here. I was surprised when another non-SR20 group that was lapping after us also came over to crowd around his car as well.

That SE-R is a 91 and was driven by someone with a BCDL that started with the number 1, meaning he was either in his 50's or 60's.
Unfortunately, the plates have been terminated, leaving me to believe the car has been sold.

Cool! What's the story on it? How did you manage to get it registered in Canada?
Nice wheels too. I have the same ones, but I got them powercoated silver and removed the Volk stickers, so they wouldn't attract so much attention.

SumAznGuy 12-02-2005, 05:09 PM Kewl. I like the black a lot better than the red SE-R's but then again begger's can't be choosers.

Well, i bought it off my friend locally, he got it registered in Canada , a couple years back, but it was ok.. he said it wasn't too hard at all. Im pretty lucky he was selling it to me, *** he was the 1st owner that kept it till this day :)
I don't know why it was easy to register! It's blacklisted by Transport Canada for its seatbelts, check their web site.
It has door mounted instead of b-pillar mounted belts, which is a no-no (although Saturns and Fords of the era had the same thing, and they were sold here).
I actually tried to help a guy who bought one, brought it back into Canada, and he ended up having to return it to the US and sell it there, since he couldn't get it registered.
