I was curious if anybody currently has a XM satellite radio. In the car, or in the house. Looks kinda interesting, 100 channels etc. Only $9.95 a month. Yeah, probably a waist unless you got alot of money to blow. Which I don't. Just think of those times you want to here that certain song, and can't find it. Thats when I turn to my twitchy right foot for the exhaust note!

hey bro~
i used to work at a car audio shop.....IMHO its not worth it...you will be spending 300 for a unit to recieve the XM plus the car antenna is another 100, if you want to run it thru a deck you ahve to get a compattible deck which is at least another 150...add that all up you are spending 550 just to get xm...that is without xm...ask yourself what you could get for 550 and then ask yourself if you want XM.
Peace!

Dont know what kind of rip-off shop you worked at, but both the Alpine and Pioneer XM reciever modules are $150 to $175, not $300.
The antennas are $75 to $100.
My headunit was XM capable, so I paid a whopping $225 for the module and antenna.
Why get cable television when you can just get a few local stations for free. It doesnt matter if the reception is crappy. Think about what you could do with all the money you'd save by not getting cable tv!!! :D
Heh... It's worth checking out, and I definately think it will be a standard thing in the near future. People dissed cable tv too 20 years back...
