So mostly itll stick in reverse, just give it a good tap and it comes out. I have to go ahead and do the clutch anyway, so Id like to know if anyone had a similar problem with theirs and what you might have done to fix it.

Im getting ready to order clutch pars, so if I need something else then now would be a good time. So far Im getting a disc, pp, t/o bearing, and pilot bushing. I was considering ordering the release bearing retainer springs.

TIA

I had a tranny in my 200sx that would do that. It was due to the shifter fork. btw the tranny died shortly after.

You may just need to adjust the clutch cable. Try that first, it may just need to be tightened.

Did you just experience wheel hop by any chance? How are your motor mounts?

Well, definetly check your motor mounts. Probably the rear one. You could have also cracked you trans case at the diff where they always do. That may cause an issue or 2.

If he's talking about the NX1600 I sold him, then it's done it for years. The guy I bought the car from said it's done it since he bought it, and he had the car for a few years. When the shifter would go into reverse, you can feel the shifter "sinK" into gear. And you can hear it. Hit it with the palm of your hand, or a swift motion will get it out of reverse. I gave up trying to figure it out since it didn't really bother me. I was thinking the rear motor mount, but with way it sounds, it sound like it's something to with the gear box. almost like, that "lock" thing that keeps you from going from 5th to reverse is keeping you from smoothly getting ouy of reverse.
