I was planning on buying a 200sx then DET it. Should I look for the SE-R model or it doesnt matter?

Well, its a hell of a lot cheaper and easier with the SE-R 2.0 model. With the 1.6 youd have to get the following and then some more other than jsut the engine for a 2.0:

- Tranny
- Axles
- Gauge Cluster
- MAF
- Wiring harness
- Maybe weld new motor mounts

Chris Storer, what am I missing here?

Again, its MUCH easier and cheaper to drop a DET in a 2.0 SE-R model of ANY of the Nissans over a 1.6 to DET conversion!

Just my $0.02 worth. ;)

Welllll....

Don't for get he still needs the JWT ECU plus a 2.0L core (check out www.car-parts.com I've bought two at $70 bux now!)

Motor mounts: I've heard only one is different but they are ALL different part #'s (cept maybe one I can't remember now its been a while since I ordered....)

Anyways I just dropped the tranny and the motor is coming out this weekend - I'll post a nice pic of 1.6L mounts next to the 2.0L mounts and we'll see wazzzzup there... but if you need them all... and the brackets like I did your talking over $300.

You'll also need all the frekin sensors from a us sr20, distrib, both coolant, 02, and on and on and on.

The radiators are different but you can probably get away with the 1.6 if your not living in the desert - I switched to the se-r radiator to be safe...

Also - you'll need a flywheel off a manual sr20, clutch and all its goodies...

Thats about all I can think of - only worth it if you get a SE dirt cheap....

The fun part if you DO go the 1.6 route - My insurance is cheaper on my '95 200SX SE than my '93 NX2000 - to the insurance company its always going to be a 1.6 hehe

Best of luck though and if I did it all over - I'd buy a damn SE-R!
(Cosmetic issues I forgot - sideskirts - $$$, rear badge, rear brake upgrade, replace the stupid rubber shift boot....)
