There are some great bars in Norwalk (south norwalk) about 10 minutes up 95 from Westport.

'downtown' south norwalk has quite a few to check out, just walk around and find one. The lounge is the only one i can think of off hand (the name)

I dunno if anything is stilling happening but the Berlin Turnpike used to be big. They also have the Hartford "gathering".
