Sup boys! I got an interview at the Field Museum in January. I LOVE Chicago!, but just wanted to see how it goes down there, see if it is worth making the trip for the interview. I have an interview in Boston 3 days later, so I don't know if should consider it.
Things I want to know:
+ Housing $$$
+ Public Transportation
+ SR20 reps!
spit it up!

theres qutie a few sr20 guys in the chicago area
housing in the city is very high..compared to the burbs around it. can get somtimes twice as much of property and newer compared to the city. public transit it excellent second only to new york but cleaner. (i know cause i work as a mechanic for them). sr20 community is pretty good. but of course we have our down time like just like you in the winter. as far as the city goes i personaly love it. dont know if your married or single. but if your single bar scene out here is great and nothing best North ave beach in the summer.
jose is right, city prices for rent is very high compared to suburbs or the outskirts fo the city. since you have an interview at the field museum, south shore or just south of the city wouldnt be a bad choice. great new apts. and condos going up there but they just dont have the same night life/bar scene as the north side like lincoln park, wrigleville or buck town. chicago is great and the CTA is very good as well. good luck with the interview.
