: SR20VE Turbo Project
fontaracing 12-13-2005, 07:26 AM Hello guys,
we´re a shop located in Peru (South America). About a year ago we made the 1st transplant of a JDM SR20VE engine from a Primero into a light Sentra B14. Everything works awesome.
The next step we added a haltech E6X standalone ECU which works pretty good.
The owner now wants to go to the next step with turbo. I thought I would ask you guys out there about the things needed to accomplish this task and ask for any tips or tricks you might suggest.
Here´s my list:
Turbo
Manifold
wastegate
blowoff
downpipe
oil cooler
inyectors (size??)
intercooler
piping
We need to lower the stock c/r. Do you know if the SR20DET pistons fit?
All inputs are appreciated.
regards,
fontaracing

hpro123 12-13-2005, 09:55 AM The next step we added an italian racing ECU from Walbro standalone which works pretty good.
Walbro ECU????
1st time I hear of it. Any links?
Oh, welcome! :)
geeio 12-13-2005, 10:08 AM andreas did a nice little write up on the ve and boost a little bit ago do a search and you should be able to find it.
Nyc Sr20PowerD 12-13-2005, 01:51 PM its just like boosting n e other motor, depends on how reliable and how much power u want to make, u can boost it on stock compression, its only 10.3

here you go.

The base model (enough for any street car) sells in Europe for around 750 euros. Biggest model sells around 7K euros. This is a 100% standalone racing ECU, not a piggyback.
They also have stuff for telemetry and data logging.

Hello guys,
we just finished putting everything together and programming the standalone for the engine. As we are just breaking in into the engine we´re running 10psi. The sentra b14 shell was lightned replacing the hood, doors (4) and trunk with fiberglass models.
cheers.

SE-Rawkus 08-06-2006, 10:33 PM WoW.... your B14s have a lot of space between the radiator and the motor.
fontaracing 08-06-2006, 10:37 PM We have extended the chasis a couple of centimeters otherwise the turbo wouldn´t fit in the stock engine compartment.
STRATTON 08-06-2006, 10:39 PM looks nice other then that lidious front bumper. is it a nissan or a evo ?
stratton.
fontaracing 08-06-2006, 10:46 PM yeah i totally agree with you, i don´t like the bumper either but its the customer´s taste and style. Its an EVO9 Replica in lightweight fibreglass.
cheers.
STRATTON 08-06-2006, 11:01 PM glad to know its not yours. sad to know its on a nissan though. but as long as he likes it so be it.
good luck with that motor/set up.
stratton.
