Guys I just changed my oil last week on my det with mobil tri-synthetic and left the car for a week and now all the oil had leaked out:mad:. I checked the drain plug and filter and they're both tight. The oil is coming from where the power steering line is. but my PS fluid is full. Any ideas?? where's the main seal located??
TIA,
Nick

has it all come out or just some of it? Sounds like the oil pressure sender to me. Did you put a T so you could install a oil pressure gauge? If so that T may have broken which is causing the oil to come out.

I believe most of it is gone *** when I checked the dip stick it was on the curved spot. And it seems like it only leaks when its parked and not while the car is warm and in motion:confused:

dude, you have had way too many problems with that DET setup. did you ever fix your idle problems? I know this has nothing to do with the oil pressure sender problem, but are you running a JWT ECU or a BB DET ECU?

well I guess it is kina hard to describe the location. Do you have a aftermarket oil pressure gauge though? If not it doesn't sound like that is where the oil is going. Some stock oil sender units leak but it isn't enough to drain the oil from the car. If you do want to look at it.

Jack up the car.
Crawl under the passenger side.
If you look up over the middle of the passenger side axle you will find there is a connector.
That is the oil sender.

I'm sorry I can't describe it better, its kinda one of those things that has to be pointed out to you, but it should be pretty obvious from looking.

Thanks David, I'll look into it as soon as I get a chance. In the mean time I'm gonna put in some non-synthetic oil and see if the thicker oil will have less leak problems.
