For those of you guys that have driven with this two types of turbine housings , How do they compare as turbo lag and street driveability goes?
TIA

What I've experienced is that the .63 will spool up quicker and have a bit less lag, but it's also limited, HP wise compared to the .82. Ryan Besterwich upgraded from the .63 to the .82 and gained almost 80 wheel HP. But the price is that it doesn't spool up quite as quickly as the .63 does. You just have to decide what's more important to you, I guess.

FWIW, with the .63 people make about 300-320 at the wheels, maximum. Still not "slow" by any stretch of the imagination.

David De Anda made 333 to the wheels at 17psi with the .63 a/r and the 72 trim wheel.

The turbo that he sold was that same turbo which was a .82 A/R housing! How can it be a .63 and an .82 at the same time? That was the turbo that he had rebuilt when he blew up the motor on the dyno!

It was a .63 when I blew the headgasket on the dyno. I decided to upgrade to a .82, but then decided to sell everything instead. So, the person who bought the turbo (Chris) got a nice, freshly rebuilt and upgraded turbo with the .82 housing. But, it did make 333 whp with the .63 @ 17 psi.

Speaking of selling things... Do any of you AZ guys have any turbo stuff for sale??
Louis: If you've still got the manifold, I've got the money... I'll probably have you drop it off to Han/Kent like Saturday. How is it compared to the F-max or Hotshot manifold??? You got any other 'newer' parts you want to unload?? Let me know!! Post here or e-mail me at RaceMySER@aol.com. I still want to setup a time to meet sometime to go over options... TIA!!
