Hey everyone....

I am looking to getting a GReddy SP exhaust for my SX. Has anyone had experience with it? Is it mostly a top-end or low end gain? How does it sound? Is it high and like a fart-can? Or a deep base? How is the performance gain?

Thanks!

Thanks...

I got confused by what you said. Did you say the tip was a lil' too big and gives off a deep sound?

I fell the same as SERracer01. I just wish I could get that same sound out of my NX.

Trust/Greddy is great. Its not like some other custom exhaust all loud and tin can sounding. Greddy is very smooth and deep ...goood for the ears!! My tip for the 1998 se-r's is 120x130...nice and huge..doesnt make a difference though...

Get the Greddy! It was the last mod after intake, headers, and pullies and it really made a huge difference! The car really pulls hard and sounds really good. Not too loud either. Only problem is I don't like the size of the tip.

I am going to be getting soon....probably from Options.

Some of you are complaining about the size of the tip. Is it too big? Too small? I have not seen a pic of an SP on an SX before. If any of you have one, post it please:)

The difference in the Greddy is not as much as a header or cai. It's benefits are best appreciated after these mods. Makes great sound.

It makes a good deal of power over custom exhausts. This is really apparent in the top of third, and into fourth gear.

$480 is cheap, but you have to remember it's a mild steel unit, and is prone to corrosion. For over 2 years mine's holding up ok but is getting some rust on one of the hangers. This is what motivates most to get a cheaper custom set-up. I painted mine with high temp stuff, which has helped alot.

It fits a little too close to the bumper, and I never could seem to get it to settle down, but this is ok since it's coffee can exhaust scrapes on driveways anyway.

Leave the tip dirty if you want it to be more discrete. I polished it a few weeks ago, and bling-bling... minute rice.

yea thats what i need.. power in the top of third and fourth
(mainly to hit those traps at a higher rpm)
i go through 1st and 2nd fast, and 3rd feels slow

What about the HKS setup? What do you prefer Bennitto?

I know that I will be getting mine for 468 shipped from http://www.aieonline.com/40/cat40.htm?157. This is the site, but it goes directly to the greddy part, but I think you can figure it out for yourself. I would suggest getting a little certified mail w/ return receipt if I were you, since its a wholesale company. Any of these places could be shysty!

HKS's are supposed to be quieter, and less ricey. They may make a few hp less, but almost negligible. Both are better than non-specific applications.

I had my Greddy SP for over 4 years and paid $520. I first bought it after researching and found it to be the best for the 200sx se-r after dyno testing. It also has the least amount of back pressure. There was an exhaust comparison in SCC years ago. Also my Greddy is stainless steel and shows only a little rust on one weld (typical of welded stainless). Love the sound.
