I checked my oil the other day and it was really dark, thin and smelled of gas. So some how I have gas in my oil. What could be the problem?

Make sure you don't have a injector leaking.

How does your engine run? Yeah, check if there is a leaking injector. Your engine could be really worn and lots of blowby could b going in your crankcase

Do a compression check, bad rings would do it.

did you do a compression check? or check for a leaky injector? thats the main things it could be. unless you have a midget under your hood dumpin gas in your oil fill

When it stops raining I plan to do a compression test

Could be that you are just running way too rich. That could also be caused by a leaking o-ring on one of your injectors.

I had the same problem. It was caused by 2 things: a bad injector and a bad thermostat. The injector did not have a leaky O-ring (I checked but it never dribbled), I think it was just stuck wide open flooding the cylinder. The t-stat was broken so the car could never warm up - it was stuck in warm-up fuel-enrichment mode. With my NisDataScan box, it showed that in warm-up mode, the injectors would hit 100% duty cycle well before redline - making it run pig rich.

I just replaced the t-stat and all the injectors last week and it's running like a champ - I just need to check the oil again to make sure it's alright, but I wouldn't be surprised if you've got a similar situation.

This ia a lot like the problem I had with my NX.
Mainly, a non-functioning thermostat. The car never warmed up if the ambient air temp was below 40f. The colder it got outside, the richer it ran. After 3000 miles, my oil was fairly clean & still all there - yet gassy smelling. If you're not burning(losing) oil between changes, bad rings are unlikely

Anything that can make you run rich would add gas to the oil. Check the vacuum line to the FPR. If that has a leak it'll richen you right up.

Stupid as it sounds, is the air filter really dirty?

How about the O2 sensor? Old? Tired? Mine had a busted wire, so not working, yet never threw a code:confused: Without an o2 signal, the motor will run too rich.
Bonus: After fixing the wire, MPG went up, too.

lastly, if you have a bad injector, I have a few extra good ones(red-259cc) laying around. PM me & I'll give you one.
