I know that a few people have done this. Is there any noticeable gains? How much exactly do you bore the MAF out? TIA

I'm not sure of the gains, but I'm pretty sure its recommended to have the JWT with the bored MAF program if you are going to do this. Andreas has one for sale in the for sale forum.

According to JWT it is a waste of money.

And Andreas also got 270 whp with 370cc's and stock bored MAF. You decide if its a waste of money or not Pretty White.

I think the better statement is that its a waste of money if you are pushing less than 240hp.

...Which rules out anything less than a turbo or DPR (or equivalent) Stage 6[or whatever] cylinder heads.

Stillen used to hawk bored out throttle bodies. I wonder why they're not a hot topic on these borads or the list? [sarcasm]

I think the main question that needs to be asked of the original poster is, "NA or turbo app?"

The theroy behind a bored MAF is that a larger hole in the intake track would cause less resistance than a smaller one which inturn would give you more HP because the eng would not have to suck ass hard to get air into the motor. EX like putting a POP charger on a SE-R.

I will give you some food for thought. If you bore out a MAF on a SER the car runs a little lean. So what does JWT do to their comp. They lean out you comp and advance the timing on the bottom a little. Kinda sounds like a cheap option to JWT comp.

The truth is all the SE-Rs I do I put bored MAFs on them. Is it worth the money well at $60 shipped to your door I think it is. I think it works but thats my opinion. On the other hand like the guy up top said it is not a upgrade that you really need unless you plan on going past the readable limit of the MAF.

I wonder why JWT would say this.
