Anyone tried putting a stock steering wheel on a quick release hub?? I have a Pulsar GTi-R and want to keep the stock steering wheel, but I want a quick release for security. Thanks fellas!

it shouldn't be too difficult. does the wheel have an airbag?

I have seen it done in Porsche 944s quite a bit at a shop next to one of my parts vendors....

all you would be doing is disconnecting the wheel from the hub and adding the QR part, with the new hub attaching where the wheel used to... should be straight forward, i would think.

Using the stock wheel would be tough. The stock wheel attaches with one nut to the steering column.

Most aftermarket quick releases out there are made for sparco/momo type of wheels. With those wheels you have a hub adapater bolted on where the stock wheel would go and then the quick release bolts to the adapater and then the other side of the quick release bolts to the wheel itself.

I'm not saying it couldn't be done but I highly doubt there is a bolt on solution out there for the stock wheel, it would most likely take some tinkering.
