ok,i searched until my eyes got tired and didn't find what i was looking for, sorry if i missed it somewhere.this is what i'm trying to find out,i was thinking of buying a sunny gti front clip and install everything onto my 91 se-r.the intercoler will of course be put on the front of the car instead of on top.my questions are,

can i use the gti ecu

will the gti motor drop in just like my jdm sr20 did

will the stock 5spd tranny bolt up to the motor

are the quad throttle bodys hard to tune,or can i just use the jdm intake manifold

will the down pipe from the turbo match up to the b13 exhaust location, and where can i find a 3 inch down pipe

and last but not least,i get creative, can i swap everything over to make my b13 right hand drive

thanks for all the help

if youre swapping motors, you have to use that ecu that came with the motor, or get a stand alone tuning device for your stock ecu, or get JWT to program your ecu.

if the motor is a sr20 it should bolt right up to your stock location

your 5spd should bolt right up as well

keep the stock quad throttle body manifold - jdm wont bolt up.

try jgy for a 3" downpipe

anything is possible with money and time... but i have seen a b13 RHD conversion before...

did u mean gti or gti-r?

prob a gti-r,even though i would like to get a gti so i could use the tranny,i think those are just FWD,i'm sure it would handle more than the 250hp that the usdm tranny is supposed to handle.but i could be wrong since i haven't seen anybody put a post up about that.

is that from a jdm front clip?or did you just do some cutting and welding?

not mine... just stumbled upon it on this forum like a year ago and saved the pic. i have no clue. but i'd imagine itd be a ton easier if you used a front clip for parts...

To install a GTIR motor in a 91 SER you will need all of your motor mounts from the sentra motor. You'll also need the passenger side mount bracket from the SER. You will need the SER wire harness and your SER flywheel to be redrilled to accomodate the GTIR flywheel bolts. The SER tranny will work fine, just bolt it rightup and you don't have to tune any throttle body b/c it is already factory tuned by nissan. You have to use the GTIR ECU and rewire your SER wire harness to run with that motor. There is a couple of more stuff that you need to do but u can search and find that out.

if you get a GTI, its a DE not DET so dont even bother with it. you are right about the GTI being front drive but i doubt the trans is much stronger than a b14 one.

a gti-r swap is darn easy if u know what your doing and looking at. Theres a bunch of write ups on it so try a search i know ive repeated everything u need a bunch of times and i do have a link of a gti-r being put in a g20 which helped me in every aspect that i was confused about while doing the swap if u want it just pm me

but if i end up getting the front clip, couldn't i just use the harness and ecu from that?,and same thing with the flywheel,or is the gtir flywheel bigger?i'm just trying to get as much info as possible befor i get my plans together.also does anyone know of a place with decent prices on gtir front clips?i've emailed the sr20 store but he hasn't gotten back to me yet.

u can use the git-r harness but i found it easier to use the stock se-r harness and splice some clips and plugs in from the gti-r harness over to the stock one. Either way u are gonna have some wiring. i think ive read that u can use the gti-r flywheel but there was some hassel about it so in other words just use the us se-r flywheel and have the holes drilled from the factory 10mm to 11mm in order to bolt it to the gti-r engine. Cant help ya about shops to by from 1. because i dont live in your area so idk what the best shop is around u 2. because i bought mine from a guy on this forum. good luck
