On a whim my friend and I decided that we are gonna take a trip up to NYC and Atlantic City tommorow (Friday). We are coming from the DC area. I think we will leave around 10, hopefully the morning rush hour has died down by then. We should then arrive in the city around 2:30. The issue I'm worried about is finding our way around the city and parking. It would be best if we could leave the car in one spot and then just take the subway and buses. Is there any good place to park and just leave my car? Maybe even in NJ?

We will probably try to wait out the evening rush hour in NY, and then head down to Atlantic City for the rest of the evening .

on a side note: check out chicken n rice on 53rd and 6th :biggthump

What are you going to Manhattan for? Atlantic City is about 2 hours away from Manhattan as well.

Park downtown somewhere, it still will cost you an arm and a leg. Start in SOHO and walk up. Or if you wanna start from Ground Zero, just walk straight up Broadway. At 34th street go south to 8th Avenue and then at 42nd walk north to Madison. At 59th street walk south to 5th Avenue and walk 5th Avenue downtown, thru Washington Square Park back to the Ground Zero area. That should take up all but 4 hours and keep you occupied. That will keep you in the center of Manhattan.

Yeah, still with her, but now she's back in the DC area going to grad school at GW. I actually don't have any of my old cell numbers now (got a new phone and the all the old numbers were lost).

So is there any particular parking garage I should look for in NYC? How much am I going to pay for the day, 20, 30 bucks?
