Yea, you can pick one up in Gran Turismo 2, for playstation :) All jokes aside, I have been looking for one for quite sometime but they seem to be super rare and look to be spending over 1G. The primeras had them in 99-01 also I belive. Out of all the engine contacts I know of, no one has ever seen one or some even heard of it.

First of all this 6 speed box just cam out for the model year 2002 so it will be on cars that are dated 09-2001and newer. It is about 33% stronger than the SE-R box. So your only way of getting one is to buy it new for about $2200 buy axles for $350 each new. Then change your car to hydralic and then change the ends of your axles to SE-R ends with instalation I see a cool $4000 spent so stop dreaming. VVL motors have been out since 97 and they are hard to come by. I have had only 6 SR20VE motors and 3 SR16VE motors in this time frame. So try getting a part from a 2003 model car imposible the odds.

miko, all bad news! wheres the good news??!? damn i really wanna 6spd, or atleast a stong tranny! I dont much about transmissions and universability of them, but how universal are gears?? i mean if you could find a 3rd gear from a different tranny, like a honda, ford, whatever, that had the same ratio, could it be dropped into our tranny?

I personally like the idea of a 6 speed. Hopefully one day I'll have enough power to reach the top of 5th, imagine if there was another gear there. 170mph?? Not that I would go that fast.. But you could..

A SE-R gear box will go up to 175-180 MPH in fifth gear at 8000 RPMs depending upon tire size I know I have seen the far side of fifth gear many times. If you want more top end than that then get a G20T box. If you can get it to 8000 RPMs in fifth it comes out to about 192MPH.

also don't forget the six speed trannies use a cable shifter, not a rod shifter like ours
