Hey guys, the 14mm bolts connecting my header secondary to the cat are completely rusted. I used WD40 and all, but the nuts just get more and more stripped as I try to loosen them.

Therefore, I need to know if the actual bolts twist in, as in, are threaded inside and won't come out, or they just slide in and the nut on the other end is what keeps them tight on there. I was thinking of dremeling the 2 rusted nuts off and then if the bolts pull out just pulling them free. Input? Thanks.

They are the *exact* same studs that hold your header to your block. Threaded on both ends, with a small bump in the middle. Hope that helps.

The nut size is different though, but the thread size is the same. I had to cut The cat nut off with a dremel. Some people just drill the studs out and put a bolt through it instead of a stud. BTW, you are using a 6 point socket while attempting to take off the nuts, right?

Hmm, so those bolts are double threaded as well?

Yeah, if your using a 12 point you will more then likely round those nuts very easily. 6 point is the way to go. If you havnt rounded them too bad, there is a chance you could still get it off with a 6 point.

Ok, thanks, I'm gonna go check what I was using, but I thought they were 6.

Just so you know, that "double threaded bolt" is called a stud.

Hey, I both called it a stud and said it's threaded on both ends. Nobody listens to me...

Hey just made sure, and yes I was using a 6 point socket. Wish I had been using a 12 cause that means maybe I could get the bolts off, but no. Still no luck after dowsing them in WD40 for the past 2 days.
