I saw a post here a while back (can't find it now) about solid motor mounts for the NX.
Where can I get some??? Mine are out again (second time in only 120,000miles)

Also, Is any one using them??
Do you get more engine noise/vibration?

Thanks

I have the JWT solid mounts

loads of vibes but great for putting the power down.

The ES mounts are easier to deal with and are cheaper.

lots of people run the ES ones, some of the ES ones just squeze in with your old mount. while some are pressed in.

The JWT mounts are all pressed in except for the Dog bone mount near the Header this is a metal pice that replaces the old mount completly

ES dog bone is like the JWT but it dosent have a metal shell.

hope this helps

I've had the JWT mounts for over a year now and definitely more vibrations in the car. I've just gotten used to it.

whats the price difference?

250$US for JWT againt 70$US for ES.

Be careful, you need two sets of mounts from ES. One set is called torque motor mounts (side motor mounts) and the other set is for rear and front. They are 35$ each set at Courtesy Nissan.

Being Canadian, well, you know what happens with the dollar! So 250$US for me is like 400$CAN!!! And I consider it very expensive!

Actually the Torque motor mount inserts(P# 7-1105) are the front and rear inserts and the other set(P# 7-1106) is for the left and right.

and i think that the passenger side mount is the one that people dont use...or might not use. that one can brake..i have seen one broken. i think that there was talk of leaving that one stock, and then doing all the others, or somthing like that. i need to do mine soon to...

Thanks for the help guys.

I think I'm going to go with the ES mounts.

From the pictures on thier site, they just slip into the factory mount??

one of them has to be pressed in.

This can be done with a vise or some hefty c-clamps.

im not sure which one it is though, one of the sides

I have the JWT Solid mounts. its been like 3yrs now since i put them on my car and they work great. true about the vibrations but very good to put the horses on the pavement....dumping the clutch at 5500 rpm on full slicks will throw u back in the seat but the motor does not move at all. I dont know much about the ES mounts but you might want to do some more research on the JWT mounts... goodluck

All you really need of the ES mounts are the Torque set. Those are $25 from suspension.com. I ordered mine from them and got them very promptly considering I'm in Maine and they're in CA. I think it took like three days. I was very impressed with their prices and service. For a street car the torque set is plenty and they're fairly easy to install (you will need a vise or something to press in the dogbone inserts, and lots of WD40 or Silicone spray to get the firewall mount in). I am loving the ES mounts in my black car though. It vibrates a lot at idle, but is totally smooth once underway - and the engine feels so much more connected to the car. Shifting is smoother, and the car actually goes as soon as you step on the gas (my mounts were awful before). It's a hell of a mod for $25 (I did a shifter bushing for $6 and swaybar bushings for $15 at the same time, might as well do the shifter with the crossmember off already).

I just did the front & rear torque mounts, front ctrl arm & front sway bar bushings.

The torque mounts are a snap - esp. if you get the car up on a hoist or over a pit.

The only problem I had was getting the sway mounts lined up properly so that the two mounting bolts would reach to start threading up.

Just ordered some ES motor mounts and shifter bushings, so I will offer my impressions in about a week or so. Oh yeah, and a Pacesetter adjustable short shifter, too!:D

JWT mount's kick butt. Hard to beat. Throw in the es suspension bushings and the combo can't be beat;)

when you guys say vibrations, does that mean the fillings will fall out of my teeth? also, is it easy to break the solid mounts? Are they all metal?

Nah... its just a little shaky at idle.
Also depends on how tight the car is to begin
with. My 165k mi. SE-R has the 2 mount set and
it shakes more than my NX with the 4 mount set.

I'd say the worst is when you have the AC on, it'll shake some, no big deal but you will start
having rattles develop (in door, trunk, etc.) and
gotta chase those down if they bug you.

The HD mounts are strong enough, I think I've heard like one person with a broken firewall
mount, I think that was a fluke. Most all of
the mounts available are polyurethane except the JWT dogbone.

Also, if you start with just the torque set, check
the passenger and tranny mounts as well, they could still be worn out, mine were and I replaced them with stock Nissan ones and that cut some of the vibration down too.

All in all very worth it IMO to have the feel that
the engine is in there nice and solid.
