: running lean?

Today i took off my header to weld up a crack and re-enforce it so it doesnt crack again. I noticed the inside of the pipes have no carbon deposits at all whatsoever. its like clean metal, alittle brownish white tint to it. Touching the inside if them, there is nothing. So does this mean it's running lean or what?

I guess the first thing to do would be back my timing down alittle...its at 19 now. Colder plugs? If it is running lean, how do i get more fuel? Adjustable FPR?

Done to the car...s3 in.,s4 ex, cai, header, high flow cat and 2.5" exhaust, bored maf, stock ecu. The injectors have maxed at 98% duty cycle.

I don't have a wideband to tell me...which is why i'm worried its lean.

humm yeah i really want to get this fixed before something melts. It also stumbles alot between 3 and 5krpm when the a/f ratio leans out which is why i think its a problem.

If the injectors are at 98% wouldnt that mean that you arnt getting fuel? Bigger injectors and new tune fo ***...

But if it was running lean *** the injectors couldnt keep up, duty cycle would be over 100% right?

Is anyone els running intake, header, exhaust, and cams with stock injectors and stock ecu without problems?
