I have 17" Tenzo Shu 4's with 205/40 Toyo Proxes FZ4. The rim has a 42mm offset and it rubs the back strut below the pearch on the shaft *** a tad bit...I was wondeing if anyone has hd this problem and what they did...I was thinking spacers but i'm also worried about the gap between the tire and rear quarter!!!I've also heard of spacers makeing the car shake??I know some of the peeps on here have had 17's on their classics so help me out if ya can thanks.

Oh i forgot...I have Tokco blues,H&R springs,ST bars and ESbushings

It's not necessarily the size of your rims that is causing the problems, its also offset. I think it should be at most +40. Spacers are not considered the safest method to change offset, but I don't think just alittle in the back will cause any problems

I am running 17's and I had the same problem... I called every tire store in town, and they all told me that spacers were not a smart thing to do, especially if I plan to autoX.. the told me to take a ball ping hammer and jsut hit the part where it is rubbing a little... it wont affect the strut or anything liek that at all... that is what I did and I dont have any problems any more at all... jsut my 2 pennies..

No wonder you rubbed Phatty, with that 2.5 inch drop. My car is dropped 1.5 in front and like 1.3 in rear with my Eibach's and with 15's and 205's rubbed on a spot inside rear fender... So I just cut it off with my pocket knife.

No when i first put the wheels on they rubbed on the inside of the strut perch.. it is stationary. it would have rubbed no matter how much it was dropped... I only rub becasue of my drop when I deserve it, ( hen i push real hard in a corner)
