I know what you are thinking but its a rally car, it doesnt have to look good. We have used it in one race so far and it performed very well but it needs more power. We are stumped as to what engine will bolt up. Is there anything that we can do? The 1.6 8V thats in there is ok for winter rallies but come summer we are going to be seriously outgunned. Its a push button, part time 4WD system, not AWD.

I need something that is available in Canada. Also, theres no way the Rally car is going to be better than my street car. So nothing is going to bolt right on then, oh well.

Why not look for a late 80's Pulsar NX-t engine? I do not know how reliable those engines are, but they are stock with a turbo and the Pulsar should have the same mounting points as the Sentra's did.
That shoudl be a direct fit replacement with some minor mods needed with ECU remapping, intercooler piping, etc. And it should give you that little oomph! you are looking for in the performance.
Just a thought!

Are you running the Quebec perf. regionals?
Right now, assuming no engine mods etc. you're running in P2 (Civics, Corollas etc.) As soon as you swap motors you're in open, competing against Cosworths, ProDrive-spec WRXs, Evo etc - and in production - even backdating/updating has become illegal with this year's rulebook. I would recommend staying in P2 or switching cars.
Yavor K.(can't remember spelling) has a prep'd P2-class Pulsar NX for sale for $1000 CAN - cage, log book, ready to rally. Not a strong car, but a good starter considering the ridiculously low price.
here's the ad:
Must sell '90 Nissan Pulsar NX, 1600 cc.
Car is stock, engine runs well.
CARS approved 6 point cage and 2002 logbook.
Needs rear bumper (torn off by sweeps on Perce-Neige)
$1000 Canadian ($650 US) OBO.
Call me for more info.

You can always swap in the CA18DET, I'm pretty sure it drops right in. I've been in a B12 with one of those engines in, and at 22psi, that thing is a beast.

It doesn't bolt up, you have to fabricate mad stuff (just to get it to sit evenly) and then worry about getting the ECU wired up correctly. Also something about that ECU give the engine bad fuel delivery.
My pops had the ca18det in his B12 and it was a pretty nice. At 7psi of boost it was sweet but I think his Sr20 B12 pulled way better than it. That Sr20 can barked like a dog on crack!
Fast91SER, i've heard about that B12 in FL with the ca18det. But it was on some crazy story like he's running stock with 20psi of boost  Do you know anything more about it? Always nice to hear about Sentra Hybrids

I thought the CA18DET was a direct swap, goes to show how much I know :)
I dont know much about that car, I've met the person like 2 times, and got to ride in it once.

so theres no easy answer. I was hoping something easy to come by would drop in.
