I have been noticing a decling in my idle lately and along with this low to no idle, is a very bad hesitation at low to medium throttle. At balls out peg the floor throttle, she screams, but under light load or normal driving, shes like a wild bull just bucking and sputtering. I have ALWAYS had a slight backfire when switching gears ever since the DET swap 3 weeks ago. Here are the things I am goign to do after work in hopes of finding this problem before I run at Ohio Valley tongiht:
- Change Fuel Filter
- New Plugs 6 days ago are the copper 6's gapped at 28-30
- Reground MAF
- Check TPS and MAF voltages
Can any of you guys out there gimma some insight before I run tonight!!!???

Are you running stock fuel pressure? How much boost are you running? Have you double checked and zip-tied all of your vacuum lines? Try gapping your plugs down to 25 (I used to gap mine to 22 and it ran great!!). Make sure your timing is set right.. Uhh... All I can think of (for now :D)

Stock fuel pressure with stock pump. Stock boost, for now..hehe. Vacuum gauge at idle, when it idles normal is 18-20. No zip ties on the vacuum lines, guess I need to do that just to be safe. Ill regap the plugs today and I "THINK" the problem may lie with the TPS. We used the one from my DE block and just eye-set it and it ran beautiful. I guess the ECU has had time to read everything and doesnt like the setting of the TPS. Thanks David, I will be doing some QUICK tuning before the runs tonight! :D

Were any of the injecotrs removed from the rail? If so you may need to pull them and chek the o-rings. Just a thought, although the car would probably run worse than you describe if that were the case.

Hey Jon the track is not open tonight. I think T&T on Weds and Fridays will start sometime in April. In the month of March the Valley will only be doing T&T on Saturdays from 1-6pm weather permitting. Where you able to locate an engine for me, Thanks for your help.

WHAT!!!!???? then why in the hell is everyone calling me trying to have a place to eat before going out there?@!!!! What the heck???? Ugh, oh well, just gioves me more tuning time I suppose. ;)
I can get a DET for you at $1700 if you want to save shipping, we can drive to get it! ;)

Nope, these are the same injectors that came on the engine in Japan, we didnt remove them, just gave JGY my 370cc's for these to make things much easier.

i know its an old thread, but did you ever get it fixed?, and what was it?
i just swapped a DET into my B14 and i get the same issues, surging and hesitation at 3000 rpm, and if i floor it, it takes off.
