browsing through my sport compact car magazine, i came across the new products section and saw a muffler there that caught my eye. it's a univsersal muffler made by mbrp inc. (http://www.mbrp.com) that is very attractive looking. the tip itself is towards the bottum portion of the muffler and is only a 3.5 inch tip. it also says it's a resonated tip.
now, my question is has anyone heard of this company? also, will this resonated tip make it sound like crap or will it just quiet the car? most mufflers i read about are just straight through and have no resonaters on the tip (or so i think), so i'm unfamiliar on what this'll do. the site says their combination makes a car that sounds quiet at idle, but mildly aggressive when you get on it. also, since it's an offset tip on the muffler, will it mount up okay or will i lack enough space above the muffler when it's mounted which in turn will make the tip be too far down underneath the bumper and look tacky?
btw, here's a picture of the muffler:

The Pacesetter exhaust has a resonated tip. I personally have never heard of that exhaust, but that's not saying much. NismoNX2000 has a tip exactly like that, 3.5", angle cut. His can is a little smaller, but otherwise very similar. Made by Bosal.
Chances are the resonated tip will just change the tone a little bit; its not long enough to make a significant change on exhaust resonance. Make sure you have a decent resonator and a cat to quiet things down in addition to that muffler.

i *** got my muffler put on the other day sstr8 through with no resonator and its quiet at idle and when i go on WOT it sounds hella agressive, nice deep tone....i dunno what kinda muffler it is though, it kinda looks like that one, but with the muffler having rounded egdes and the tip comin from the middle, and my tip comes all the way out, under the bumper or else it wouldn't have fit and it still looks sweet. and to answer your ? no i dont think the tip should make a differance that much i think, pacesetter has resonated tips and they have a differant tone but its the muffler that makes it sound like it does so i say go for it. im gettin my pipes done next week, and its gonna pretty dam loud i can already feel it, o well, as long as it aint a high piched honda sound im coo:cool:

i emailed the company with some questions on the muffler and asked for the price. i hope it's not too much, as i've really grown on this muffler. it's either this one or a nokya (spelled like that) n1 style muffler that looks pretty darn nice. i want to get exhaust done, then a header, and then cams hopefully. suspension i'm not too concerned about right now.
