Actually it reccomends 5w30 in most cases. But there is a little chart showing which oils to use. I think 5w30 has the best range in it, but 10w30 is pretty close and would work just as well.

It all has to do with climate.

Personally I use 5w30 in my nx.

The car calls for 5w30, thats what i use and it also calls for 3 5/8 quarts of oil. If you put 4 in, you will be fine, just make sure that all the oil is drained from the pain as much as possible. If its not, then i would stick with as close to 3 5/8's as you can.

If you have an SR20DE.

Note that he has a 1.6, and shouldn't follow those guidelines, or it will be overfilled.

Yeah, your right...my bad. I didnt notice that you had an nx1600. The guidelines are in the manual actually. For the sr20de and for the 1600 i believe. The oil you put in also depends on whether you change the filter or not. If you change the filter it takes less oil i believe, whereas if you dont change it, it takes more oil.

You should ALWAYS change the filter whenever you change the oil.

Ah, yes, but some people like to fill the oil filter up before they put it on so the car will see oil pressure quicker.. of course if you try that with an SE-R you'd just make a mess... so nevermind, I guess :).
