Hein-eken mentioned something about wanting to get a carbon fiber hood in another post. Where can we get those? Would Street Weapon have them? I wonder what the weight savings would be, and whether they are of the good, mulit-layered carbon fiber variety or the heavier carbon fiber over fiberglass kind.

At any rate, I'm thinking of getting my car repainted soon and might just wait till then to get the hood cause my paint looks like CRAP.

It has been my experience that CF hoods provide a minimal amount of weight savings for a maximum amount of money. One Type R owner I know was pround of the $1000 CF hood that weighed 10 lbs less than stock. Wow. Where do I sign up?

Items that will save you much more weight and cost much less:
Wheels
Battery
Race seats

In fact you could probably get all three of those items and spend less than a CF hood. I put CF hoods in the same catagory as crossdrilled rotors. No performance gain, but boy are they expensive.

Yes, but then again, I need a new hood anyways. The one on my car is badly faded and has rust on part of the underside. The group deal being talked about for Carbon Fiber hoods sounds like a good deal to me, only $325 plus shipping. That's not much more, if at all, then a stock replacement from Nissan and would be lighter AND better looking IMHO.

That is the least amount of $$ I've ever heard for ANY CF hood.

My Fiberimages hood weighs 9 pounds, a 30 pound savings over stock. I'd say that's worth it when you have stripped a car of everything possible and still need to drop more weight. My Classic with a cage now weights in at 2160 with a bone dry gas tank.

Call Apex Motorsports in Azizona for prices.
