Here goes
i had 5th gear pop out in my 93 G20, so i bought a new transmission. the transmission that came was damaged in shipping, which im working out with the seller now.
i got a new transmission, and installed it. When i took it for a drive, i can hear a horrible grinding noise.
1.) I can hear the noise at idle if i get under the car and put my ear near the transmission.
2.) When i push the clutch in, i can hear the grinding noise just as the clutch feels like its going to engage. or when i let my foot off the clutch peddle gently.
3.) the noise can be heard in ANY gear when i am decelerating, and its very, very loud at this time as well.
4.) it seems like its worse when i am turning a corner
I put a new cluch, pressure plate, and throw out bearing in. From my searching iv come to the conclusions its either the input shaft bearing, a motor mount problem, or the throw out bearing. i think its the input shaft bearing, i HOPE its the motor mount, and i really dont think its the throw out bearing. any help would be greatly apreciated. thanks
