I just ordered a Bluebird DET, and as it was being shipped to me, the semi it was on got blown over. It (the engine) didn't roll and tumble around, it just tipped over on it's side I believe. An injector broke, the fuel rail bent, the distributor cap broke, but other than that, it is in good shape and just dirty...Do you think I should go with this engine, or wait another 3 months and get another? I called SR20 Development, and they said they've dropped DET's off of fork lifts before, and they've been fine. What do you guys think?

It will probably be fine.

But only if they replace the broken parts, or give you a suitable discount.

Cool that's what I'm hoping. Because this engine was a beauty, very rare - only 15,000 miles on it, and a *factory* front-mount intercooler. Anyways, is there anything internally that you can think of that could possibly get messed up if I see absolutely no external cracks? (I can't, but I'm no expert..).

Well, it would be good to check and see if the oil pan was dented when it fell over. Some people have had troubles with the oil pickup being damaged, and starvation resulting from that.

Other than that, the only other thing I can think of off the top of my head is that the intercooler itself might be damaged. Check both sides to see if it's smushed.

It sounds like a good engine.
