I have been thinking about how the b14 guys with the low port put the high port cam in thiers to gain power. yet the two engines make the same ammount of power in stock form. So with my b14 having a high port that comes with the high port cam...am i making more power than if it were in a b13 since it is OBD2? This has kind of confused me. thanks for some info. I searched and couldnt find anything covering this aspect of the high vs lowport. If i missed something enlighten me not flame. Thanks

the low port was rated the same from factory but in reality it did make 5 or so less HP. because of the revised cam for emmisions reasons. so when you put the highport cam in it brings the engine back to life.

Actually, when I took my 91 cam 97 lowport out of my car and put in a full 91 motor, I went from a 15.6 1/4 mile to a 15.3 1/4 with no other mod changes.
May have had a weak '97 motor, or a ringer of a '91, but I'm a believer in the full highport treatment.
EDIT: Now that I think about it, my '91 motor was a very early one with the gold/black valvecover, which I think I read once was the hottest US sr20de. Many many changes were made to the motor over the 10 years or so we had it in this country. Even though it was rated the same all through the years, drive a '91 SE-R and a 2001 SE pp back to back and tell me they didn't remove the nuts off the motor.

all i know is that a low port engine with the high port cam is the hot setup for much of us 95+ sr20de people.
