Well, I gutted my airbag components on my NX racer last night. The FSM says there's a tunnel and safing sensor. I took out the unit under the center console, but it was only one box. Does that box contain both sensors, or did I miss something somehow? Anyone know?

did you get the one behind the e-brake?

Yes, that's supposed to be the location of both that I mentioned, but there's only one box. I now believe that box to contain both sensors.

Yup, just the one box. All SRS stuff will have a yellow harness going to it. Just look for those and you'll find everything!

Good work, Blair. Hey, if I remove ALL pieces, will the airbag light still light? What controls it and tells it to come on? If it's the airbag ECU, that's been excised as well!

I think it will, but I'm not sure. The bag was already out of mine when I bought it and I never looked at the bulb. You may have to pull the cluster and yank the bulb.

I was surprised to see that Nissan actually used an LED for the air bag light. Back in 1993, that was super high tech.

The air bag light is the black one in the lower right hand corner.

IIRC there is another one under the radio, up in front of the gearshifter.

In the front bumper is another sensor, next to the hood latch.

The tunnel and safing sensor is the one in the center consil by the e-brake , there is also a computer under the radio area , also a front crash zone sensor on the front of the car by the radiator ...

Guys, guys...I got everything out. I just wanted to confirm that ONE box under the CC was BOTH sensors.
