Storm88000 03-07-2002, 07:13 PM The love has gone, alot of people are getting rid of their SE's in favor for NX's or B13's.
sr20detutah 03-07-2002, 08:38 PM I've still got my SE. The only new thing I have a projectors and corners, but my car just got broadsided and awaits to be fixed, $4,100 to fix!! This summer I plan on a T28 conversion and hopefully some other stuff.
Xosis 03-07-2002, 09:10 PM Yeah, I think the 99 SE is the best looking US sr20 powered vehicle:D I'm piecing together a turbo setup right now. It would be done if the post office didn't lose a money order I sent to Rocketman...
OnyxEros 03-07-2002, 09:21 PM i just had a long 3 days putting in my intake cam, i should have followed the directions to the letter. tomorrow i will be changing the oil and dropping in the g20 ecu
O
4Dr99SE 03-07-2002, 11:38 PM Yeah I just ordered a Hotshot header through Chad Kelly's group deal for $375 shipped. I have the AD22VF Calipers, Rotors and the Matrix pads all ready to go as soon as I put my stock rims back on. I have winter wheels on right now which willn't fit the upgrade. And I'm waiting till I get my Goodridge Braided Lines before I put all that on. And within the next month I see a G20 ECU in the forecast. So all that is certainly going in. Brakes in the Garage, header in the mail, going to order the steel lines tomorrow, and the stock rims(with Bridestone Potenza RE730's on them) go on tomorrow when I go home for spring break.
Oh yeah Question fellas I'd like some suggestions on what color to piant the Calipers. I haven't decided on anything, but I'm curious what you guys think. This link isn't a picture of my car but the same color, so you can get an idea for colors, And mine is lowered and the gap isn't as large. Oh and I have the KYB AGX's so my shocks are orange. Thanks!!

Saaby 03-07-2002, 11:51 PM I still got my se and love it...not planning on getting rid of it either. I am trying to get some new brakes and hopefully it won't be the ad22vf's...I want something slightly bigger. Trying to see if fastbrakes 11" kit fits my stock rims.

martin_g34 03-08-2002, 12:25 AM I STILL GOT LOVE! sniff sniff:D Now I'm finally done with my suspension and brakes. Got the full Motivational set-up and the AD22VF's. So now its time to concentrate on "go fast stuff". I'll be getting my Hotshot headers and CAI within the next month. And I just installed my UR pullies. Oh, and I can't forget about my "rice". Just got finished installin my hose kit from Hose Techniques, and hopefully my radiator hoses will be coming soon. I'll post some pics as soon as I get back from the convention. Anyone here going?
Spaceman Spiff 03-08-2002, 02:28 AM i have my 98 SE. but lately, i've been cheating on her.
i'm hooked to my B18C1 94 Civic Si!
shame on me. i know :p
i bet as soon as i put the DET turbo into my sentra, i'll fall in love with her once again. the turbo's been in my garage for over a year already. i'm so lazy.
one question. if you have 80K miles on your motor, would you buy a DET and forget DE+t, or you'd keep the emission clogged DE and turbo it?
dustin
SR20DE and B18C. yummy
Saaby 03-08-2002, 10:50 AM if you have 80K miles on your motor, would you buy a DET and forget DE+t, or you'd keep the emission clogged DE and turbo it?
Do a compression and leak down test on the DE. If the results are good, go with the engine which you know the history of as opposed to buying a used engine.

jacen99SE 03-08-2002, 11:54 AM Yeah, what Saaby said.
I have a motivational setup on the way. I want to upgrade the brake's, but I am going to wait and see what Saaby finds out.
I will be adding a VLSD tranny too.
OnyxEros 03-08-2002, 01:05 PM Well it seems there are you answers to what is going on with the SE's, we are all so hard at work fixing up our cars we don't have time to post.

snif, snif,...music to my ears.:D
Don't forget the Phantom Grip LSD will fit into the SE's non-VLSD tranny. A much cheaper solution to a whole new tranny and probably better than VLSD as well.
OnyxEros 03-11-2002, 11:38 AM say it aint so??
where can i get one of these? fantom things
and how much

osideracer 03-11-2002, 02:48 PM so i take it the se's dont come w/ lsd? i am thinking of either getting a 98-99 se or a 92-95 h/b w/ a b16 swap. im torn between the 2  anybody know what the top speed of a se is? with a modified ecu like a JWT ecu.
OnyxEros 03-11-2002, 04:02 PM although this is not the thread for it i will say it's a personal decision on which car to buy, my friend has a hatch back without a swap with no rear seats i/e and can keep up with me until around 60 then i pull.
the problem you will have with the swap are the usual swap problems and such. also price i bet a hatch back by itself will cost as much as a used SE-L just because it's a honda.
in terms of top speed unless you want to go to jail you shouldn't worry. just pick something you enjoy, if it's a nissan you can come here and chat about the upgrades, if not happy honda hunting
O
osideracer 03-11-2002, 09:50 PM thanx. ive seen hatches for like 4k and a used 98 se for 5.5k so there is some price difference. i dont know yet. i used to have a gxe and i loved that little 1.6. i also like the way the se looks w/ the stock rims. and about the top speed, i dont like losing to hondas on the highway and this used to happen to me a lot when i had my sentra. my gov would kick in at about 115mph. i could pull on them hard but eventually they would catch up and beat me. the only reason i like the h/b is *** theres a plethora of parts for the b16 and it can be made quick pretty easily.
