From flange to flange, the stock cat is exactly 12.5" long. By the way, if you want, I can make you a very nice ceramic coated test pipe for $110 plus shipping in any diameter you want.

If you want pics of my work, let me know and I will e-mail them to you.

Peace,

thanks, i will keep that in mind..

do you think the .5" difference would be a big deal, or would there be enough slack in the midpipe and muffler piping to have it work?

It will probably work, but the B-pipe will be shifted forward 0.5" on its rubber hangers. This might pose a problem. Does the cat you are getting have the flanges already welded on? Remember, the stock flanges are clocked at an odd angle, so make they ,atch up!

no, it doesnt have them. so i would get them welded on, or weld them on myself.

12.5 W/flanges...would this one work?

That cat will not work unless you cut off one of the flanges and weld it back on at the right angle. The flanges on the OEM cat are clocked at a 44.6 degree angle relative to each other. The cat shown in that pic had the bolt holes in the same position.

For the above cat to work, you would have to cut one flange off, rotate it clockwise 44.6 degrees, and weld it back on.

thanks. i didnt even notcie that the cat had one of the flanges turned like that when i was looking at mine. i guess i the better way to go would be to get the 12.5" one and cut the flange off, and turn it. unless i can find another 12.5" one that doesnt have flanges

alright, i think i have come to a conclusion...

i think i want to get the 14" cat, and then cut 3/4" off of each end, then weld on flanges. the price is deffinitly right. i could find random tech. cats for like $188 compared to the $62 of this one. i think the savings of $126 and maybe shipping, is worth the trouble of welding on some flanges...
