I just bought my 200sx se-r this week , and i'll sell my 1996 sentra 1.6 .
I'd like to know wich cam offer the best combination with a turbo kit (6-7 psi). Jim Wolf S3 , S4 , or maybe the C2 or the C3 .I know I have to consider overlap in the choice .Can you help?

I don't think the c-series are good at all for turbos... but that's pretty much all I know, that for a turbo your choice is either the s3 or the s4

Your best bet is to call JWT and they can find out what is the best set up for you car.

S3's are by far the best cams on the market for turbo cars... the C series have too much in them for a turbo car... I suggest you to go with the s3's I as well as a majority of turbo car owners are using s3's... Just my 2 cents for what its worth

I don't personally have any experience with them, but from what I've heard the S3's are the ones to go with... They are setup for more power at a lower rpm, so it would be better when you are not boosting yet. The S4's make the most power near redline... where the turbo is your power, so they wouldn't be best in that situation. The S3's I've heard can add an extra 20 -50 hp on turbo'd cars depending on your setup. I might be wrong, thou...

Hum , HUm ,
Thz for your advice , i was pretty sure the c-serie has too much overlap ....so the S-series should be the best.....sue i'll have to call at JWT for more info.....

is anyone ever test a S-serie with the valve spring kit and titanium retainers , is there any advantage?

And........do you think guys i need to reprogram my ECU by JWT to use a cam with my turbo kit

Or i still can use the turbo program (from JWT that come with the turbo kit)......?

You dont have to use the new springs and retainers... ave the 600 bucks they are for the c series... S series will work with stock springs and retainers... You can also use the S3's with the turbo program you have right now... but you may have to compensate for the idle loping for awhile... some people have no problems with idling after installing them... its kind of a 50/50 thing... The dyno shows that the s3's increase hp about 20 without the program... you may be able to pull out a little more hp if you get JWT to compensate for them on the ecu.. but I know they are very backlogged right now...

The C series cams work fine with turbo. Just ask 10 second Ben Benavides.
I'm running C1 cams on my turbo. They run fine.

uhh, the Hotshot kit doesnt come with an ECU, at least the T3 one for $3299. you are going to need an ECU, which is gonna set you back another $550 or so plus core.

also, with any of the smaller turbo setups at higher boost levels the powerband will usually fall off, so i would recommend getting a bigger cam for it.

we will also see how the Tomei cams stack up against the C1 cams in very similiarly equipped cars soon, as Terrin is a few miles away from me and i already have the tomei cams.

they actually have only 256 deg of duration. they are the exact same cams as was in the SCC cam shootout. the lift on these cams is mammoth though, about the same as the S4s, so they should do quite nicely with the turbo.

i think they'll do better than the s4's!!! i know its possible to get some in 270 or 272 somethin like that, but thats the highest you can go with out having an extremely horrible idle....where did u get yours AEBS?

no, i got them from Boonie, who got them from Chris Pinthong, who got them from dave coleman. these cams have been around, but only had like 2,000 miles on them when i got them.

I'm running S3 cams with my Hot Shot setup. I'm happy so far. My best time at the track running 8 psi is a 13.2 at 104 mph on Nitto Drag Radials. I'm working on getting bigger injectors, fuel pump, Cobra MAF and some more boost. Hoping to run even better times this year.
