I am new at this so forgive me if this comes out wrong. Here it goes: I am buying a 94 SE-R and it has a Place Racing, HS header, 2.25 mandrel bend exhaust, JWT S4 cams, Nology wires,Denso Iridium plugs, UR pulleys and a couple more things but my question is: has anybody had any JWT cams and after the cams got a JWT ECU upgrade and if you did what kind of gains did you receive? Any info would be helpful. Also is their anyone out there with a car with close or same mods as me and if their is I am curious what kind of Dyno results have you had?

IMO most of the gains would be seen with the higher rev limit (7800rpms) with the JWT ECU, not neccesarily much extra power below that. The JWT ECU greatly improves driveablity with the cams, though, and improves throttle response.

With the ecu program for the S4 cams your car will idle a lot better. And you will gain some low end power.

You'll get rid of the dreaded 114mph speed limiter, which you ca slma into in 4th gear

I ditched my aftermarket wires for stock Nissan ones and my car ran better. This is with S3s as well as a JWT ECU. Also ran well without the JWT ECU.

sr20deboston how did ur car feel with the stock ecu, compared to the jwt one? (idle, power..etc..)
i have s4's sitting in my room, and im deciding if i should put them in now, or wait to buy the jwt ecu

Thx for info guys. It doesn't seem like anybody received any low-to-mid range power gains. It is nice to be able to feel the top end, but for every day driving it wont seem like I will feel any difference. I race SCCA and I also go out for the occasional "Fake and Furious" (although beginning to stop that)and it will be nice to be able to keep up with all the "type r or type sir" ricers at the top end. I have never had a JWT ecu and am kind of leary about spending the $695 to get it done. Also has anybody run the Denso Iridium plugs. I have already bought the plugs with the Nology wires and have not installed yet but am anxious to do so. Any info from you Nissan guys is great

Throw the cams in. I was in SR20DEBoston's car when he ran the car with both the JWT ECU and the stock ECU. The car runs pretty much the same. Just idles a little rougher with the stock ECU in. The car still doesn't stall with the stock ECU in.

Big Big different about my idle when i got my JWT ECU

The immediate differences weren't that radical. However, I have new issues related to the idle but not related to the ECU. I have some general maintenance to deal with to fix that. I should hopefully be getting my ECU back with the S program on it, finally, sometime soon.

I should note that the JWT ECU didn't have the cam program on it when I ran with it before.

Every price for a JWT ECU I've seen has been $595. Where have you seen one for $695?

I probably meant $595.00. I just have not heard really great about the JWT ecu besides the idle difference. I might just wait on it. Do you know much about the Stromung exhaust? What about a good short-shifter. I have had the Stillen and like the shift, but it was a bit noisy.

ecu and s3 cams should give you about 15whp total
s3s without the ecu only give you about 4-5
but with the jwt s3program then you'll see about 15whp
ecu without the cams is like 6 hp

your hp #'s for s3 w/ and w/out the ecu is off
s3 w/out ecu: 11.3 max gain
s3 w/ ecu: 13.0 max gain

OH
Hmmm chris@sr20development told me those numbers so I assumed them being right +or- 2hp

but either way you'll still see a significant gain and the SOTP is is good (seat of the pants) feel

i dynoed at 145.7 HP and 131.7 Torque w/
the S3 and JWT ECU

w/ just the JWT ECU and stock cams it was
141.7 HP and 131.8 Torque
