Domiken 01-28-2006, 01:49 PM Ceramic or metal? I know they made some ceramic ones
Nyc Sr20PowerD 01-28-2006, 02:58 PM WOW THIS HEADER SEEN MANY HANDS, i think its stainless steel, get it welded bro
NismoPC 01-28-2006, 03:54 PM Sorry to hear that. I have had mine installed for 2+ years and no issues yet.
I believe that is 2 cases of the seam on the piping splitting. The other occurred in the UK I think. So far, their track record is still damn good over an approx. 3+ year production run.
byronchrisp05 01-28-2006, 04:05 PM when ya buy ss auto chrome you are taking your chances, but my hotshot cracked also

Yep, it was Shaun's here in the UK that split in the same place....
Nissanwulf 01-28-2006, 05:09 PM sorry to heer that happened bro maby u can get it welded.
Jaketips42 01-28-2006, 05:14 PM One of the reasons I found a hotshot to crack is that the holes for the manifold to bolt to the head aren't very precise. The holes need to be bored to fit your engine accordingly. The header and your head expand and contract all the time. If there is no margin for this movement, the metal will force it's way to where it wants to go. Even if that means cracking just to adjust itself. But I haven't seen it on the secondary pipe. I haven't seen a lot of these, but anything's possible.
t bags 01-28-2006, 06:48 PM dam dog..sorry to hear that..yet another reason to go boost
coalitionSE-L 01-28-2006, 08:38 PM Oh well, at least you didn't pay the big bucks for a Hotshot because they crack just as easy.

OneSlow1.6 01-29-2006, 02:40 AM it has been proven that ssac's piping walls are MUCH thinner, so i wouldnt think they crack as much...

But surely that would lead to MORE expansion/contraction?
Which would make it prone to cracking more often?
Most of the S14 guys in the UK won't touch SS Autochrome stuff:(
markbuts3 01-30-2006, 07:41 PM Here's some pics of the one from the UK. As stated in the post it was only on a while before it cracked.

It was patched and is still in use today on Shaun's second Primera.
