My car was parked out in front of my apartment building, at about 10 pm, a lady came up my street and smashed into the rear of my car! She hit it so hard, that it pushed my car up and over the sidewalk curb, and almost hit my building.

Good news is that there were some witnesses. So the cops were able to find her and pick her up. As it turns out, she was twice the legal limit for alcohol, and also high from smoking pot. She was arrested for hit & run, and DUI.

The bad news is that she didn't have insurance :( . Luckily I carry full coverage on the SER. So I will hopefully be able to buy it back from my insurance company for cheap.

Now I just have to figure out what my next step is.....I just started my apprenticeship as an electrician, so money will be tight for the next 2 years or so.

So now I'm sporting my 98 gmc sonoma...kind of slow, and doesn't really corner that well :(.

update:

car is totaled (no surpise). I bought the car back, so now it's a donor car. I still live in the stone age...no digital camera, and I do not have internet at my apartment! lol. The girl who hit my car live only like 10-12 blocks north of me, and since the accident, the portland police have called me back and informed me that the house is shady. If I sue her, I'm worried that A. she has no money anyway, and B. the lowlifes at that house will come down and start some s%$t! I'll pass on that drama.

here's what I've come up with for options:

1. buy another b14 SER, swap brakes and suspension this spring, and do the tranny/motor this summer.

2. buy a B14 SE, swap brakes and suspension this spring, and drive the 1.6L until this summer and do the tranny/motor swap.

3. buy a 91-94 sentra, whatever model in good condition, and swap brakes, install some sort of basic suspension (hyperco's/koni reds?) in the spring, and swap tranny/motor/harness/guages? etc. in the summer.


If you guys have any ideas or know of a good deals, please let me know. I will be ready to buy in about 2 weeks probably. Thanks in advance.

P.s. david, I still have those factory b14 wheels sitting in my bedroom waiting to sell. :) let me know if you're still interested.

Hey if dave doesn't pick those wheels up I will. Would've told you about this $400 SE-R i justed picked up in salem, but i had to get it it was a great deal and teh body is clean except for some fading. Also Anthony Sosa has his for sale for 2100 and is clean looking, also there are a couple in seattle area.

Also there is and auto white 200SX SE-R for 3K and a black auto for 1800.

you have a lot of B14 parts at your finger tips. a B14 would be much easier to put my spare VE into ;) B14's are sexier. no drooping door hinge problems, B13 owners upgrade their cars with B14 parts. what more is there? haha

hmm, I feel like I'm being pulled in two directions! B13....B14....

Ric: getting another B14 would be easier, but this does not mean I need a VE :). I have a perfectly good 11:1 motor ready for a transplant....

Of course buying a b13, I would save alittle money, but none of my suspension would transfer over....maybe if I could find a clean/straight one...

I don't want to sell any of my parts from my ser. I want to transfer them over to the new car I get.

I still have a pacesetter header for sale. I made 164 whp with it, then spent $600 and bought/installed a GEN6 hotshot which put down 164 whp.....hmm nice investment. So make me an offer :)
