: Group Buy!!!New Brake option for B13 and B14's
98sr20ve 03-11-2002, 04:25 PM Just thought I would let everyone know that www.fastbrakes.com has some brakes ready for our cars. Two kits with options.
Kit 1 is a Wilwood with 11 inch rotor.
Kit 2 is a Wilwood with 2 piece 11.75 inch rotor.
options include a 2 piece for the 11 inch kit and a 2 piece with a Heavy Duty rotor.
Prices are
$575 retail for 11 inch, two piece 11 inch kit in standard is $760 or the HD cost is $800.
The 11.75" kit is $800.
He is sending me a caliper to check the fitment ot the 11 inch kit with the stock b14 wheels.
I am talking with Brain at fastbrakes about what is included in the kit and will post that when I get the info.

NX$paniard 03-11-2002, 04:52 PM sounds very interesting, decent prices!!! cross drilled/slotted rotors??? ss lines? how many pistons on the wilwoods? keep us posted or at least me if no one else is interested!!!!!
thanx!!
CNibbana 03-11-2002, 04:57 PM I would definately be interested in the 11" kit as long as it fits under stock B14 wheels. Keep us updated.
98sr20ve 03-11-2002, 05:18 PM I have e-mailed to confirm what is included in the kit. Will post when I know. Most kits he sells do not have slotted or drilled rotors. I bet the HD rotor will be the slotted "StopTech Aerorotors" on his website. All the Wilwoods are four piston. These are the same calipers as the BABK from what I have seen.
NX$paniard 03-11-2002, 05:41 PM sounds good.... rotors can always be swapped, keep us updated maybe we can get a group buy goin!!!!!
thanx
Saaby 03-11-2002, 05:56 PM You are my HERO! Thank you so much for doing this. I am a definite customer if the 11" rotor fits the stock b14 15" rim.
Tell Brian that I thank him please. I was trying to get someone to loan their rim to brian so he can test fit the rotor earlier...its great to see that you came through.

He will have the rotors drilled or slotted (I am pretty sure). Keep posting the questions so that I can get a list of what to ask.
Is there an interest in a group buy??????????
xDennis 03-11-2002, 05:58 PM these brakes look sweet, i think the 11"ers are well wort the money!

NX$paniard 03-11-2002, 08:23 PM i'm definitley in especially if u can get slotted/drilled rotors and its all under $800 or so..
hope a few more people are in...???
NismoB13SE-R 03-11-2002, 09:19 PM Whoa!! that's a great deal, I think I'll jump on that w/ in the next couple months.
98sr20ve 03-12-2002, 01:31 PM Here is some more detailed info straight from Brian.
Steve,
The HD 11" 2 piece rotor is thicker than the standard
2 piece (1" vs .81") and is a directional vane design
so it will resist overheating better. I don't think
anyone will ever overheat these rotors.
The standard 11" kit will include:
Dynalite 4 piston calipers
1 piece stock style 11" rotors, .81" thick
adapter brackets with all bolts, etc
hub centric rings
front braided steel lines
EBC Green stuff or equivalent street pad
The 2 piece rotor option will be an extra $185, and
the HD option will be $225.
The 11.75 kit will include:
Superlite 4 piston calipers
2 piece 11.75" rotors, .81" thick
adapter brackets with all bolts, etc
hub centric rings
front braided steel lines
Pads are not included with the 11.75 kit as the buyer
will probably want to pick specific pads for
different tracks.
I will try to get started on the big rear kit in the
next few weeks...
Thanks,
Brian H
All of his other kits listed on his web page have the option of an slotted or drilled rotors so I would expect that at least one would be an option on our kit also. Slotting was $25, drilling was $75. on the other civic/integra kits. I will confirm this in my next e-mail with him and will also ask about the group buy.

NX$paniard 03-12-2002, 02:52 PM you are the man bro!!!...keep it goin man im in with ya for sure if nobody else is!!!! keep up the good work!!!!!
98sr20ve 03-12-2002, 04:02 PM THIS IS NOW AN OFFICIAL GROUP BUY!!!! The price will go down $50.00 if we can get 5 people. I am in for the first order. If there is interest let me know. I know some will want to wait until I know they will fit the B14 rims. I should know that by this weekend.
Rotor slotting is available for $75 extra. Drilling
is available for $100 extra.
Caliper bore size is 1.38"
Let me know.
Steve
P.S.
Do you think we should post something in the TURBO section for all the boost junkies to get bigger/safer brakes?
It might be worth posting it up over on the Sentrabb too. if you get one person from there it was worth the effort. I'd LOVE to get in on this but I don't think I will be able to raise the funds soon enough. I'll keep my eye on it though and see what I can do.

Is the two piece an aluminum hat and steel rotor? What is the HD option?
What kind of caliper is that on the picture of the 11.75 kit that has no writing on the caliper? Are they any good? I am looking for calipers that keep with my stealth theme.
As long as the 11" kit fits stock B14 rims I am in.

The two-piece rotor is an aluminum hat and steel rotor. The HD option is a 1-inch thick rotor with vanes (curved vents between the faces that draw air in like a fan) instead of the standard .81-inch vented one piece or two piece rotor.
The calipers are all wilwood calipers. Re-read some of my earlier post and then go to wilwood's website for more info. BTW they are racing calipers with the advantages and drawbacks. Advantages include superb power and feel. Drawbacks are that they need cleaning on occasion and also may make a little more noise then stock brakes (no anti rattle hardware). These are the same manufacture of brakes that Mike Kojima used on his car (see se-r.net or SCC)
As far as stealth. I think they are very cool looking. They are black hats and calipers so at least they aren’t red. I will probably purchase the 11-inch HD kit.
CNibbana 03-12-2002, 09:38 PM I knew you had mentioned Wilwood calipers, but then I'm kinda retarded and when you mentioned Dynalite and Superlite I thought you were talking about a different manufacturer not a Wilwood model.
I had the SMC BABK on my other SE-R but that was so long ago I can't remember Wilwood calipers. I looked on the Wilwood site and there is several Superlite and Dynalite versions. Any idea which ones are specifically for these kits?
I wonder if we'll need the Altima master cylinder for the 11" kit.
Rockwood 03-12-2002, 10:06 PM OMG! that kit is cheap!
when does the Groupbuy end?

OK if everyone hasn't noticed I changed the title of the thread. This kit was designed on a B13 but should fit the B14 Just like the NX brakes others have run. That is why I am having a caliper sent to my house to check the fit on the B14 wheels. This will not fit the B15 as they have a different bolt circle. Also, I will pick an end date after I get the caliper test fitted on my car (98 Sentra SE). As far as the "OMG". This is a great deal. A month ago the same kit for a civic started at $699 from fastbrakes. He got a deal on the parts and passed the savings on to us. Can you believe we actually are getting the savings plus the group deal.

This is a new kit so we are going to need to just try and see on the master cylinder thing. I think the calipers are the billet dynalite and billet superlite. I will confirm this latter.
