There's a metal ring that goes on the passenger side axle, and kinda snaps onto the axle seal in the tranny. Mines beat all to hell and I'm wondering if anybody knows where I could get another one. Only option so far is to get another axle.

Do you have a pic? There is one metal ring that does not matter if it is beat up. I know what you mean though.

It seems there must be an answer other than a new axle.

I'm at a friends shop right now. No way to take a pic of it. I've tried all the parts houses and they can't come up with anything like it. My axle is under warranty so if I have to I'll just return it and get a new axle with a new ring on it, but it'd be a few days before they can have it here.

I think your talking about the metal ring right up near the end of the axle that come close to the axle seal...but unfortunately I don't know how importatnt it is.... I think it is mostly to keep sand and grit out of the seal, but I could be wrong.

Yeh its a cover that goes over the differential seal. Its not really horribly important, but its nice to have it.

Yeah that's what I'm talking about. Looks like the only way I can get another one is by getting another axle. It's still under warranty anyway so it's no big deal.

Yeah, I know what you're talking about two. My old replacement axle that I just took out didn't have one, but the new one I just did had one. It should be just fine without it.

its a dust shield, i oredered one from the dealer a while back, it took 3 months to get and it was like 3 bux, i said fuck it and put the axle in
