Since I couldn't start the cam install...
http://www.sr20forum.com/showthread.php?t=145219
I figured that I would finish the CAI install... I had the damn thing WAI setup for a lil bit and couldnt finish it because I didn't buy a dremmel. Well, for me, it was a pain in the ass bigtime... Here's my story, It's kind of long ;)
Well, I wanted to make things easy by removing my battery and taking off the tray... NOOOOOOO. In my car there was this bracket in front of the battery that holds it down, but its real tight. First of all I couldn't get to the nut because the headlight fixture was in the way... Fine, I figured lets just take the headlight fixure out... cool. Two nuts on the side of the light by the corner were easy, but the two behind the driver side was impossible. So I said fuck it... I got my ratchet in the 3 inch space and started turning... NOPE... RUSTED... very limited so I got some WD40 and sprayed it down and went in the basement to spray my header while I was waiting... Well, after half an hour, The Cot Damn thing still wouldnt budge much... I am stubborn and patient, so I started turning anyway. Not only did it take me 1 hour worth of turning to almost get it out, but on the last few turns the damn head sheared off! Fuck it... I took the battery out and moved the tray out of the way.
Well, when I removed the airbox a couple of weeks ago for the WAI setup, I thought that that was all. Noooo. I removed the air horn this weekend, and found out that there was another whole piece that was behind the bumper in the wheel well. WHERE WAS THAT IN THE HAYNES!?!?! Well I figured it would be easy to pull this out... Hell No... There are two bolts that hold the thing in that were almost impossible to get to. I considered removing the bumper cover... but I was by myself... I started to remove a couple of the screws that held that on but I felt that they were starting to strip so I said fuck that... So I started trying to get the bolts off of the bottom air box by creatively stuffing my hands under the bumper... Not only did it hurt... but it was getting dark.. and it was super-hard to get enough torque with the screwdriver with my hand bent that way... During that escapade was when I busted my first light bulb in the shop light... ARRRGGGG
After about an HOUR.. and aching pain with the screwdriver, I finally got that thing loose. Getting the bottom airbox out of the well was another story... that took fucking half an hour because I had to try and do it without bending my fender and breaking the god damn wheel well flap... By this time I was already pissed the hell off... so I left to go spray down the header some more... When I came back I figured it would be a good idea to just take the front wheel off... So I started doing that... First off I want to say FUCK TIRE DISCOUNTERS!... After I got my new tires they torqued those lugs on there harder than I have ever witnessed in my life. It took me 15 minutes worth of the hardest effort I have ever performed in a while... I was out of breath on the last lug. At that time, I took a small rest... and finally took out the bottom airbox. I broke another FUCKING light bulb trying to get the light right under the well. So at this point I was really happy cause I figured it would only take me a few minutes to finish the rest... Boy was I wrong...
By this time it was about 1am... and it was 30 degrees, dark, and I was alone in my garage... I went downstairs and got the drill that I was charging for sanding the air intake hole. I got the dremmel bits that I bought at wal-mart out (3 of them) and was ready to go... Well I started sanding the hole at the highest setting the stupid drill would go... I am kidding you not... I sanded until my heart couldnt pump any more blood to my hands... not only was it slow (about 1 mm per 5 minutes) but after a full charge.. The damn drill died... I was in there for 2 hours. I went through all the sanding bits and was out of luck... I walked out of the garage, looked at my car on its stand... and then looked at the sky and asked God why... I then walked upstairs and got in bed... My girl was there and was worried about me because I had been gone so long, I told her the cliff notes and went to bed...
The next day.....
My girl made me feel a lot better by offering to take me to the store to pick up a dremmel tool... Let me tell you what... That thing did wonders! This is the one that I bought, along with some cutting wheels and other shit... Black & Decker is the shit... Here is a pic...

30,000 RPM gets shit done right!... I got that hole cut, and sanded in under half an hour... I put a rubber barrier on the hole ends, loosened the grips on the WAI setup and put the seconary pipe in... Put my filter on.. and tightened everything up... What a day... I looked at the job that was supposed to take an hour and thanked God that I didnt break anything. Finally...
BTW, I hate 75W light bulbs... Here are some pics...
