I ordered a set of coilovers from Progress in May of 2005. At that time I was told it would be about a month. I was fine with that. A month came and went, I talked to my distributor, and apparently they were out of stock of some key components required to make the coilovers, so they would be a bit longer. Finally in August I called Progress directly, and they had the same story. They tried to substitute the parts they needed with some bits that were available, but it would not give them the proper damping curve, so they were going to wait and get the correct parts. I called in October and they said they were ready to make the coilovers, it would be about a month. I kept asking my distributor for updates, and it was always the same, about a month. In late January, they promised the coilovers would be shipped within 15 business days. Today was day 16. I called Progress directly and asked for an update. They said it would be about 15 days. I confronted the man on the phone and said that is the same story I have been hearing for almost a year. He explained they had a huge backlog and that I would get my suspension. I mentioned that they were recently able to fulfill a group buy with dozens of sway bars, coilover kits and LCA braces for the same chassis in less than 3 months, why is my order still on the backburner?

He told me he knows 'We've been flying this 15 days flag for a while' but they have the ability to make my kit. They will be ready 'hopefully by the end of the month'

I told him if they have not shipped by March 1st I am cancelling my order.

It is starting to get into the time where everyone is rushing to get their race car ready for the upcoming season. This scramble is going to backlog them even more. They have had an entire off-season to make my suspension, but still have not come through.

Very, very angry

Well I'm waiting on a set as well, so I hope mine don't take nearly as long as yours.

when i ordered it took Progress ~3 months to get me my coilovers. that was a long wait, but well worth it.

Man, I would have cancelled my order longer than 6 months ago. No questions asked. Once they pull that one more month crap, 2-3 times, it's over for me. I would at least ask for some type of discount since you had to wait so long. That's ridiculous.

Wow, when I ordered mine from GregV this past summer I had them in a few weeks. Sorry to hear about your trouble getting them. You might want to see if Mossy has any in stock.

This is what is keeping me waiting. Besides, the only alternatives are Koni 8611s (more expensive) or Ground Control Advance Design (more expensive and it will take them 6 months to make)

They are custom spring rates so nobody would have them in stock.

TOOLAPCFAN is running a GB right now, some people in that GB are also waiting on coilovers. dont take my word for it, but if you ordered that long ago you should get them when the GB's coilovers come in.

btw what spring rates did you get? are they way out there, to the point that progress would need to do a little R&R on the strut valving?

They are 600/500. According to Mike Kojima, he and Dave Coleman sorted out the valving for this combo a long time ago.

Sorry to hear about your long wait Jeff. I know the feeling though. I waited for almost a year on set of camber plates that I eventually sold almost as soon as I got them.

I would have cancelled my order and then gone to a custom Hot Bits suspension with the company that Robin uses. Ironically, I think they are located in Brampton!!!

I'm crossing my fingers for you.

No we sorted out the valving for 350/250 street kit. I tested the 450/350 valving that Dan Gardner uses and found it to work well, it did not need my input. The race valving is not yet tested by myself yet.

We are going to work on a race application with 600 fr/500 r rates as well.

This was posted about a year ago.

Aww I guess it hasnt been done yet. I was thinking this was the agenda for the next day or something. Like when you post and say "today at JWT, we made xxhp with this setup, tomorrow we are going to try that and see what happens"

Oh well, Progress should know enough to spec proper valving for my application......if they ever get around to it :squint:

We were supposed to test it on Jared's Sentra race car but it fell apart because he is not capable of building a race car and I ran out of time helping him. He is a hell of a dancer though.

I think Progess has lots of experiance valving for higher spring rates with the Honda Challange cars.

There's a "possibility" that I may have Progress pick back up the project for 600/500 if Mike and I feel that my car has gotten to a point where it can tolerate more spring.

For now, at Mike's suggestion, I'll be keeping my 450/350 setup and going with the larger Progress rear bar matched with the original Progress front bar. Stay tuned for a report on how that performs over the next couple of months.

If anyone wants to order my coilover setup, I think Ed at Progress could easily replicate it.

I ordered your setup already Dan. So we'll see how that turns out when they show up.

Cool. Did you ask for the "Dan Gardner" set up? ;)

Sure did...ask for the "Dan Gardner" setup. Mine is setup almost identical to yours. GC CC/CA plates, 450/350 (valved like yours), Progress bars. Should be pretty fun.

BTW everyone they said were making headway on this, but if I drop them a line next week I'll get a real answer on a completion date. So I'll follow up again then and let everyone know.

I called today and couldn't get a straight answer out of anyone, but the person I normally talk to wasn't around. So I'll call back tomorrow.

I have to say I'm rather disappointed

Sounds shady to me... almost sounds like a company about to go out of business. This is how it starts... lol. I wouldnt get anything from them simply b/c of how long you have to wait. I thought about it, but Im glad i didnt. A year for an order... WOW man youve got some diligent patience!~ I would have gone ape shit on them already. Oh and i wouldnt have just cancled either, they wouldnt be so luckey!
