Are you supposed to put the spare on the front wheel? I did this today for about a 5 mile trip and I noticed a lot of whine coming from the front of the car.

It's probably best to put the spare on the rear and swap a rear wheel to the front -- easier on the differential and whatnot.

I can't believe nobody's said this, but you are *not* supposed to put a compact spare on the front of our cars, with the LSD. The wheels will rotate at different speeds since the tire diameters differ, and the LSD will attempt to do it's job even when you are just going straight ahead. There is a chance you will damage the LSD by doing this. So put the spare in back next time. Just so you know...

EDIT: looks like Pat said it while I was typing this :).

Well I think it's ok considering I only drove it for a max of 7 miles. It's at the shop now getting patched/switched over :D

Yea bad on the diff. Dont do it for any lenght of time. 7 miles shouldnt hurt too bad, but id say that case was getting pretty hot after the drive. Just put the jack behind the front wheel like normal and lift the whole side up, its what I always do when i rotate my tires and such. Good classics, good and stiff frames.

My B14 came with a full size spare. Well, the width isn't the same, but the diameter is. I'm pretty sure our NX did too. Funny, I never got a flat in my Classic, so I don't remember if it waqs full size or compact... I think this was done purposely because of the LSD. So, you should be okay with it on the front for the specified speed range and duration in the manual.

Man it got better I go to pick up the car from the tire place fully expecting to dish out around $15 for the repair. I get there and I owe nothing :D

Somehow I think they looked up the tires for my WS6 instead of Sentra. Seeing as how I did not buy these tires they were on there when I got the car I could not have roadside hazard on em, but I didn't say anything I just walked out smiling. :)

I don't see how they could mistake 275 width for 185 though
