Does anyone know any signs if the waterpump is going bad my car has a little over 103000 miles and i'm thinking of replacing it to be on the safe side

I dont know any signs but I know what happens when it freezes up!!!! :mad: :mad:

Check the weepholes on the waterpump. There is one on the top and one on the bottom. If there is water or rust, then the waterpump is leaking and needs to be replaced.

Sometimes the waterpump will make a whiny or rattly noise if it is going out.

I replaced mine at 165k and it was pristine and in great condition but I wanted to replace it just in case.

Mine started leaking at 126,000 and cost 300 to replace. 4 hours of labor.

Wadda ya know.....
Just doin some work on my Girlfreinds NX2k today and noticed that there was water seeping out of the weep hole on the bottom of the water pump.

Shes got 156k miles on it and its time to replace it soon.
That and the tranny switches and the front main seal and.......

It never stops

After you replace EVERY component, it will all be fine. :eek: :cool:

Dude I feel your pain! That's double whammy for you, GF and a CAR both expensive!!! :p

yeah especially when she wants to do a VE swap on her car.....
God i love her...
She wants me to go turbo as much as she wnats VE.
No biggie for me really. WE both make pretty decent money. If she buys it i will put it on. Been a professional mechanic for about 5 years now so workin on cars is second nature to me now.

Kinda kewl overall.
