Ok - I bought a NX from PA (yes the one on ebay, I'm the bastard that snuck in and had the auction ended early).

Anyways, Its being picked up today and will be here tommorow or friday, which brings me to my question....

The guys "mechanic" says it has a belt and that the belt broke... I know we have chains and I KNOW a chain should NEVER bust at 75k..... So he's thinking maybe its something else - he also said the car will turn over just not run.

Now - if it will turn over, and the chains busted - wouldn't you hear all kinds of god-awful sounds?

Whats the easiest way to verify the chain's operating?

Thanks
chris

time for another sig change....

Why don't you just pull the valve cover and take a look? I doubt the chain is broken, but you might as well see how everything looks in there anyways.

I didn't realize I'd be able to see it looking under the valve cover, that is simple.... guess I'm to use to working on the tractor haha.

OK, if you don't mind me asking, how much did you get them to sell it to you for?

Looks like it is in great shape cosmetically!!!!!!!

All I am going to say is that after paying shipping of $500ish, getting a new motor and replacing the clutch and doing a complete tune up while I'm in there.... I could turn around and sell the car with a decent profit, however I'm probably going to keep it since it looks oh so cherry.
So yes - Deal city...
To make up for it I may be selling my sapphire blue '93 nx at a killer price....

Damn you Chris...Damn you. :(

I emailed the guy and even got to talk to him. I even offered to drive out there and pick it up this weekend. Damn what did you say to him to get him to change his mind and give it to you if you don't mind me asking?

Damn I really needed that car to fill in the void of wanting an NX so bad.

Ohh well can't win em all...

Good luck with it all
